One year down, a lifetime to go! It’s the eve Matt and my first wedding anniversary, so today I’m sharing ten fun facts about our big day!
- Matt and I got engaged on December 23, 2016 and planned our wedding in just six months.
- Our wedding date was July 2, 2017—Fourth of July Weekend. I think holiday weddings are so fun; everyone is already looking for something to do, so why not?!
- I spent under $1,000 on both of my dresses—not including alterations + accessories.
- Matt’s tuxedo was custom made at Trunk Club. He’s been able to wear it a couple of times since, so it was worth every penny!
- We had a destination wedding at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO. I have been in love with The B since visiting as a child + Matt’s family goes to Steamboat Springs every 4th of July, so it was the perfect fit for both of us. Also, Lindsey Suggs, the event/catering coordinator, plus the rest of the staff at The B did the most spectacular job!
- Our colors were navy and white with subtle pops of light blue, red, and gold—to coordinate with the holiday weekend. My mom and I planned every detail of the wedding, with just a “month of” coordinator to manage the final details + weekend coordination.
- Our two dogs, Betty the black lab and Aspen the golden retriever, were a part of our big day. Betty stole the show during the ceremony, while Aspen stayed by my side behind the scenes.
- My precious father officiated our wedding ceremony. He did the most beautiful job, and it was extremely special for all of us.
- Our first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” was performed by my childhood best friend and bridesmaid Julia Kate Snow. She also happens to be a singer/songwriter, so check her out on IG!
- After our wedding, we spent three amazing weeks overseas in Rome, Dubai, and Seychelles. It was the most dreamy honeymoon!
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post! M and I are sharing tidbits from our first year of marriage—the good, the bad, but mostly just laughable.
XO,
Kristen Faith
