I recently stopped by the cutest little bakery in town for some afternoon tea and treats. Bird Bakery in Highland Park Village makes everything they serve on-site, from scratch and with the finest ingredients, each and every day. It was my first time in, and I was pleasantly surprised by the expansive lunch menu, delectable dessert case, and homemade java + hot/iced tea options. Before sitting down, I ordered two gluten-free dark chocolate cupcakes and a cup of hot jasmine tea. I stopped in just after a big day of shopping—completely desperate for a little afternoon pick-me-up. After ordering, I sat down to enjoy the garden inspired decor, while sipping my tea and digging into one of the cupcakes. Plus, who could ever forget their adorable neon light sign,”Let them eat cake.” It was such a sweet experience at Bird Bakery, and I cannot wait to bring my girlfriends back for a lunch date soon! As for this outfit of the day, I paired the lieutenant hat I found in Paris with my Willow & Clay black ribbed bodysuit, Zara plaid button-front skort, and Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. It was such a playful outfit to wear while enjoying a day of shopping + afternoon dessert. Plus, under $100.00 for everything, minus my boots.
